Close but no cigar
Have been in Vegas three weeks now and it feels like I arrived yesterday. Itâs hard to assess how to judge my performance so far. Itâs been a case of close but no cigar, should I be happy to be going deep continually or pissed off I have very little reward to show for it? Read more

Getting owned by Vegas
Since my last post where I talked about the $5k n $10k PLO tourneys I have played a $300, $500 in the Venetian and a $1500 WSOP event.
I cashed in the $300 even earning a cool $550 after wading threw a field of over 900 morons. I finished 82nd in the $500 with 62 making the money from a field of 700 odd morons and then in the WSOP event there was 3000 complete morons and I managed to finish 390th with 300 making the money.

Best month ever
So yeah, shipped the Warm Up on Sunday for $130k which was great. It was a strange one, for most of the night I had a better shot on Party and I was focusing more on that. When I busted Party in 18th there were still 80 players left in the Warm Up; the Party tournament only had 1,200 runners compared to 4,000 in the WU so it ran much quicker. From that point I grinded along until I suddenly won two flips to take me from 23/26 to 2/26 in five minutes.

What to do with the winnings?? Withdraw or build??
Last month I won a percentage of John OâShea in the ECOOP PLO Hi-Lo. John won the tournament and I was given a handy $1,250. With that I bought into an ECOOP and came 5th!
I was in two minds about what to do with the 12k dollars after I won it. Should I leave it on and begin to build a very healthy account at a much faster rate than if I had a small account? Or should I cancel the risk of losing such a large amount of money that could considerably benefit my life?

Poker Show interview
My interview with Jesse and Matt on the Poker Show is now online, go to The Poker Show Archives, Show 20 Part 4, starting around 19:20. It was a fun interview to do because it was live and unedited so I could say some stuff that would usually be edited out in for example a TV format, so I was able to say that 10-handed live NL tournaments suck, and so on.
Meanwhile massive congrats to JP Kelly who scooped a bracelet in the $1500 PL. I remember JP turning up at Luton aged 18 and just tearing the tournaments up from Day 1, really pleased to see him take this one down!

Size does matter, but Viagra isnât always necessary
Mike Sexton was at a table near mine in the PLO Hi-Lo the other day, so I dropped over to say hello. I asked him if he could really believe that there were nearly 800 runners in this event. He said that people have been playing for a month now and nearly everyone is broke, so itâs not the game that matters anymore, itâs the size of the buy-in. If itâs 1500, everyone is in, if itâs more than that, theyâre not.
